
Dr. Renteria received her medical degree and completed a Pathology residency in Colombia. Dr. Renteria worked as a Pathologist in Colombia for nine years before she moved to the United States. She was appointed as the Chief of the Department of Pathology in the School of Medicine at the University of Cauca, Colombia. For several years, she was the Director of the Blood Bank and Transfusion Services in Saint Joseph Hospital Popayan, Colombia and adviser of ESE project, an organization dedicated to promote postgraduate education in Medicine and Nursery. She is currently the Associate Medical Director of International Health Management Associates, Inc. She joined IHMA in November 2007 and she is managing clinical trials for antibiotics in phase 2, 3 and 4 as well as surveillance studies.
She is a certifed Pathology Assistant in the United States by the American College of Clinical Pathology and has published several papers and abstracts in the area of infecdtious disease and antimicrobial resistance.
