Meet the Team

Meredith A. M. Hackel, PhD Associate Laboratory Director, Laboratory Manager

Meredith earned her BS (Natural Resources), MPH (Hospital Epidemiology), and PhD (Molecular Epidemiology) from the University of Michigan. Following 15 years as a clinical microbiologist, Meredith joined IHMA in 2002 as a Technical Specialist, moving to her present position as Associate Laboratory Director and Laboratory Manager in 2006.

She has also worked as an elementary school teacher, and helped develop the Three Rivers Children’s Museum in Richland, Washington. She currently lives with her family in Buffalo Grove, Illinois.
