Research Microbiologist
IHMA is looking for an experienced clinical microbiologist for our medium sized research laboratory in Schaumburg, IL. IHMA and its affiliates specialize in Infectious Diseases and offer the most comprehensive services available to companies developing and marketing antimicrobial agents. Microbiologist would perform testing for all phase II, III, and IV clinical microbiology studies and global surveillance studies.
Experience required: 5+ years experience in a clinical microbiology laboratory. Prefer
MT(ASCP) or equivalent.
Must be proficient in identifying organisms (aerobes and anaerobes) to genus and species by colony morphology and biochemical testing.
Familiar with antimicrobial susceptibility testing methods such microbroth dilution panels, Etest, disk diffusion, and agar dilution.
Should be familiar with CLSI guidelines and FDA requirements for clinical studies.
Experience in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Access a great plus.
Must have good communication and written skills.
